Right after activation, test that Mortar is working by adding a new product to Shopify and creating a test Shopify Order and Return.

Overview

Tip: Do the following things right after activation to test how the integration works:

  1. Add a new product from your POS to Shopify

  2. Create a test Shopify order using the new product

  3. View the order in your POS

  4. Refund the test order on Shopify

Adding products to Shopify

When you're ready to add a new product to Shopify, there are two steps.

  1. In your POS, tag a product with the action tag: "add" (without the quotes)

  2. Press save on the product in your POS

When the product is visible on Shopify, add any additional descriptions or photos if needed. Then, set the Shopify product status to Active when you are ready to sell.

Checking for new orders in your POS

After your POS is connected to Shopify, all new online orders and returns will be uploaded to your POS.

  1. Login to Shopify and complete a test order

  2. From the order in Shopify, choose the "More actions" menu and select "View Order in POS"
