Merged POS customers are generally self-healing but may extend order processing time.

Merged and Archived customers

Merged POS customers are generally self-healing. Depending on the POS, Mortar stores the customer status as Active or Archived/Deleted.

When a Shopify order is downloaded, we check the status of the customer before creating the order in the POS.

Customer Status

Matching Result

Active

Link to the existing POS customer

Archived/Deleted

We delete our current mapping and search for a new match by:

  • If no match is found, we create a new POS customer.
